太宰府天満宮の境内には200種 約6,000本の梅があります。
本殿向かって右側にある御神木の「飛梅」は、大宰府に左遷された菅原道真公を追って一夜で都から飛んできたと伝えられ、境内にある梅の中で一番に咲き始めます。
様々な梅が時期を違えて咲き、その気高い香りを境内一杯に広げます。
There are about 6,000 plum trees in Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
The most famous is the one to the right of the main shrine, known as “Tobiume” the flying plum tree.
Tobiume is always the very first tree to blossom.
You can enjoy plum blossom from late January to early March.
